Trauma creates change you don’t choose. Healing is about creating change you do choose.

Holding Space

EMDR therapy online

At Holding Space, therapy is not about pushing through pain — it’s about creating a space where healing feels possible, safe, and deeply human. We hold space with steadiness, curiosity, and respect for your pace, so that change can unfold gently yet powerfully.

Our approach is grounded in Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy — a scientifically supported method that helps the brain naturally reprocess painful experiences without needing to retell them in detail. Many clients find EMDR to be efficient, evidence-based, and deeply transformative, often noticing meaningful shifts and longer-lasting relief in fewer sessions than traditional talk therapy. By working directly with how memories are stored in the nervous system, EMDR helps resolve the root causes of distress — not just the symptoms.

We enrich this process through an attachment-informed lens and Internal Family Systems (IFS) approach. Together, we pay close attention to how early patterns of protection and connection continue to shape how you relate to yourself and others. Instead of pushing those parts away, we get to know them — gently and collaboratively — so healing happens from the inside out. Therapy becomes less about “fixing” and more about reconnecting with your whole self.

Our approach is both efficient, empowering, and compassionate:

  • We address symptoms by working at the root cause, not just the surface.
  • We integrate grounding, mindfulness, and somatic tools to help you stay connected and safe as you work through difficult material.
  • You don’t have to repeatedly revisit or describe traumatic memories for change to occur.
  • You remain in control of your process, supported with structure, clarity, and care.
  • Sessions move at your nervous system’s natural pace, guided by grounding and resourcing strategies.
  • The focus is always integration — helping insights translate into lasting emotional and relational change.

Trauma-Informed Telehealth Options

Whether you’re in Australia or elsewhere, our online EMDR sessions offer the same quality of care, convenience, and intimacy — allowing you to remain in a safe, familiar space while working on your healing, no matter where you are.

Whether you’re seeking support for trauma, anxiety, depression, relational difficulties, or burnout, therapy with us blends science, sensitivity, and deep care — helping you move beyond survival toward a more connected, confident, and peaceful self.

How We Will Hold Space for You in Therapy

Therapy is more than a place to talk — it’s a space where all parts of you are welcome. Our role is to hold that space gently and steadily, so you can explore what feels heavy, confusing, or painful at a pace that feels right for you.

A space that honours your pace

Some days you might have words for what’s happening; other days, you might just feel a weight or tension that’s hard to describe. Both are okay. We follow your rhythm — slowing down when things feel tender, and deepening when your system feels ready.

A space for all your parts

You might notice different parts of you showing up — a part that wants to talk, another that shuts down, one that feels anxious, or one that wants to please. All of these parts have a reason for being here. Together, we can listen to each one with curiosity and compassion, helping them feel seen and understood.

A space that feels safe enough

Safety doesn’t mean nothing ever feels uncomfortable — it means you have choice, voice, and support as you move through discomfort. Our approach weaves warmth, trauma-informed care, and grounding into every session, so you can stay connected even when exploring difficult memories or emotions.

A space for integration and growth

As we make space for what’s been held inside — emotions, memories, or unmet needs — your system naturally begins to reorganise and heal. Over time, this space becomes not just a place for release, but a space to reconnect with your wisdom, confidence, and capacity for joy.

Clinical Psychologist Yee Fong Yvonne Lee 臨床心理學家 李宜芳

Hi, I’m Yvonne

I’m a clinical psychologist, and I’ve been privileged to work with adults from all walks of life for over eight years. My style is compassionate, grounded, and relational, shaped by a deep interest in trauma, attachment, burnout, grief, and longstanding relational patterns. I understand how challenging it can feel when old coping strategies stop working or when familiar patterns keep repeating, and I work with clients to not only manage symptoms but to heal at the root.

I am passionate about providing trauma-informed therapy, with EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) as my primary modality. EMDR helps your brain process distressing memories, release stuck emotions, and reduce the intensity of painful experiences, allowing you to feel freer, calmer, and more connected to yourself.

I also draw on Internal Family Systems (IFS), attachment- and somatic-informed approaches, creating a collaborative, safe, and gentle space for therapy. I integrate practical tools from CBT, ACT, and DBT when helpful, but my focus is always on depth therapy that fosters lasting change and reconnection with self and others.

I’m passionate about helping clients navigate a wide range of experiences, including:

  • Depression and low mood
  • Anxiety, panic, and worry
  • Grief and loss
  • Burnout and work-related stress
  • Perfectionism, self-criticism, and performance blocks
  • Complex or developmental trauma
  • Attachment wounds and relational difficulties

Therapy with me is less about worksheets or quick fixes, and more about moving at a pace that feels safe and sustainable. Sessions are guided by what matters most to you in the moment — whether that’s finding calm and stability, processing difficult memories, or exploring parts of self that carry pain, shame, or protective roles. My goal is to create a supportive environment where change happens through compassion, curiosity, and integration into everyday life.

Outside of the therapy room, I’m a mum of two — a curious little girl under three, and a beautiful baby boy, a resilient 25-weeker who reminds me daily of strength and hope.

I love quiet mornings with coffee, reading, movie nights, and slow meals shared with my partner, family and friends. Some of my favourite moments are the simplest ones — playing with my kids, sitting together in the garden, walking through a park, or browsing in a cosy bookstore.

Like most people, I’m still learning how to balance it all — wishing for more time to reconnect with family and friends over a barbecue, or to move my body after long hours sitting with clients. These small, real moments of life and connection are what keep me grounded and remind me why I do this work: healing and growth often begin in the everyday spaces where we feel most human.
